On August 29, 2025, Nanfang Black Sesame Group inaugurated its demonstration planting base in Ruichang, Jiangxi. The event was attended by Group Chairwoman Li Yujun, Chief Scientist Academician Jin Zhengyu, VP Cheng Fuliang, Chief Engineer Tang Guangwen, along with local government representatives and research institution experts.

As a leading black sesame brand in China, the Group aims to enhance the quality and traceability of its products through this base, focusing on the nationally certified geographical indication product—Ruichang Black Sesame. Known for its rich nutritional value and unique local conditions, Ruichang sesame offers superior protein, amino acids, and calcium content.

The project integrates breeding, standardized planting, and smart agriculture, shifting from direct sourcing to self-operated planting. Supported by Academician Jin’s team, it emphasizes R&D in functional health products, automation, and nutrient extraction technologies.

Li Yujun stated that this partnership combines academic expertise with industry strength, reinforcing the company’s strategy to upgrade product value and technological application. Local officials praised the cooperation for boosting rural revitalization and high-quality agricultural development.

The event also included a field inspection and a dialogue on technology extension, deep processing, and cultural tourism integration. Nanfang Black Sesame continues to expand its product lineup including paste, beverages, health products, and snacks, backed by the Jiangnan University R&D center.

To conclude, participants visited a local history exhibition, drawing inspiration to uphold quality and social responsibility. The base marks a new step in modernizing China’s black food and specialty agricultural sectors.
